Directed by Soora, "Gowli" is a Indian Kannada-language action-drama film that has come into the limelight drawing much attention to its compelling story and performances. With Raghu Singham being the producer, "Gowli", is the first directorial project of Soora and has Srinagara Kitty making his return to Kannada cinema after a gap of six years. It also stars Paavana Gowda, Rangayana Raghu, and Sharath Lohithas.
Plot Synopsis
Set in the rural landscape of Sirsi in North Karnataka, the story is centered on Gowli, who is an ordinary cowherd living a peaceful life with his wife Girija, daughter Puttavva, and uncle Kakka. Girija being the only educated person in the village runs tuition classes for local villagers. Follow the peace in their lives with the disappearance of one of Girija's students, Bhoomakka. The missing incident opens up rift between the police and Gowli's family; Inspector Kalinga takes it as a personal issue with Girija since he has clashed with her previously. Subsequently thereafter, Gowli is spurred on to abandon his laid-back approach and seek vengeance against all who have wronged his family.
Cast Work and Performances
Gowli: Although Kitty delivers an electrifying per
formance indeed, bringing the character of Gowli from that of a gentle cow shepherd to one with vengeance within him.
Girija- Paavana Gowda: Girija-the wife with whom Gowli has a good relationship and who has an educated background and hence fights for the upliftment of society.
Kakka- Rangayana Raghu: Kakka has played the role of a thoughtful uncle of Gowli. He has given a good performance conveying both intelligence and imbibing the discipline of being old enough to know what is what.
